Description
This Leadership Development Programme has been specifically designed to support the continued expansion and effectiveness of NHS Talking Therapies. As demand increases and service delivery scales up, the need for strong, compassionate, and skilled leadership has never been more critical. This programme will empower current and future leaders to drive meaningful change, improve outcomes for patients, and strengthen service delivery through clinical excellence and innovation.
Grounded in principles of inclusivity, compassionate leadership, and workforce efficacy, the programme focuses on developing core leadership competencies essential for sustaining high-quality, evidence-based mental health care. Key leadership capabilities include maintaining clinical fidelity, overseeing performance and productivity, promoting staff wellbeing, enabling cross-service collaboration, and leading innovation and service transformation in alignment with national priorities.
Spanning 10 months, the programme combines structured learning with real-world application. Delegates will engage in a locality-based service improvement project, tailored to their clinical and regional context. Through interactive skills-based workshops, solution-focused Action Learning Sets (ALS), and regular reflective practice sessions, participants will gain the practical tools and peer support networks needed to lead with confidence and resilience.
This is more than leadership training—it's a strategic investment in the people who shape the future of NHS Talking Therapies. Whether you're an emerging leader or an experienced manager seeking to refresh your approach, this programme offers the insight, support, and community needed to lead with impact.
