About this course

Our training runs regularly online across two 3 hour sessions. This interactive training is delivered by CNWL staff experienced in peer working and peer supervision working in healthcare settings.

The training offers opportunities for supervisors to come together and, within a structured educational context, learn collaboratively about the key principles of effective supervision and how these can be applied to peer workers as an emerging professional group.

The sessions seek to enhance colleagues’ understanding of the importance of structured, safe and effective supervision, holding in mind the perspective of lived experience workers (as distinct from those receiving support from services and clinically trained staff).

Skills You will Learn

  • Be able to explain and work with core principles of supervision
  • Understand the benefits of being a reflective practitioner for both supervisees and supervisors
  • Explore and understand some diverse models of both group and individual supervision
  • Be able to embed appropriate structure and boundaries into supervision spaces
